Last weekend Chelsea and Dana and family came for a visit....the last one beore the kids go back to school. We had a great time......started off the day wth the kids favorite, waffles.
We went to the Lewis Ginter Botantical Gardens with the Woods, the Nance's and my niece Stephanie Brown and her 2 cute kids. We met up there for fun day of water play, sanboxing, tree climbing, art making and general outdoor spendor. It is beautiful and they have done such a good job with all the activities and trails.. I was even able to walk the paths with the crew. We celebrated Cash Brown's 3rd birthday and lunch. The kids all got along great and played so well together. The big kids were great to help the little kids. Stephanie wanted to take Coco home as a mother's helper.
Then we came home for a little rest and then went to the free concert at Short Pump Town Center to hear the " King of Swing" Band and eat pizza and ice cream. It was a beautiful night about 80 degress with no humidity. I felt like I was in Calfornia. The funnest part was watching Evie dance and do flips with a little boy she met and also watching Coco and Gigi dance with some senior citizen grandma's rocking out in unison to the music behind us. It was packed and a great concert.
We came home and put the kids to bed and sat up and visited for more of the night. Grandpa even took the night off to be with us. The next morning, we had scrambled egss and bacon and sadly sent the Wood's back to NC.
We had such a good time and glad they live close and are always so willing to come and see us. It gets lonely here with everybod gone.
A good time was had by all :)
