Halloween ala simple Suzie this year!

I couldn't get out my Halloween decorations this year do to my bad knee, so I just had to simplfy and put together a not traditional Suzie table. It turned out pretty cute anyway and I feel festive and in the mood to have a Haloween dinner now. I just changed a few things from last month and it worked. I love black and white....it is so versatile.

Sisterly Love

Chelsea send this me today. She found this note from Evie to Coco. She made her own envelope for it and decorated the back of both the note and envelope with flowers.

It says (spelled phonetically): "Evie's list. Coco, do you like me? (line for answer) I love you. I hope you love me. I am going to invite you to my birthday. (her birthday is in June)

Very sweet.

This is a pay back for a mother and a grandmother.

My Testimony of Prayer!

I had a great experience today. I posted this on the Mia Miad blog I do for my YW.

I misplaced a special Book of Mormon Greg gave me while we were dating with a personal very sweet message to me . I keep it my my chair in the kitchen but they are not the scriptures I use everyday. I just realized they weren't there a week ago when I went to get them. I couldn't find them anywhere. Sometimes I used them on my table displays for RS in the past. I turned my house upside down, looked all over the church, emailed my friends and kids, stressed out for hours, etc. No luck. I prayed that the Lord would help me remember and be able to re-trace my steps somehow. I hadn't seen them since July. A while has gone by, and in the middle of the night I woke up and remembered where I could look...up in my attic in a basket. I had used them in a talk for a baptism I gave in July. Amazing. I would have never thought to look there without some divine guidance.

I know The Lord will help us if we ask and are patient and listening. Even if the answer isn't what we want, we will get clear direction. It happens to me all the time. I think the Lord must direct the angels...somebody has my number and is shooting vibes my way all the time.
I love it when I get spiritual guidance and direction. And I love it when I get evidence of the truth of a gospel principle.

You can too...just ask with a sincere heart and real intent.

Moroni 10: 4-5 ( on your bookmark) is to know truth. But also to help give you direction in your day to day life.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

Love, Sister Romans

Coco made SKIP-IT"S

We got this exciting news from Chelsea this morning:

We just learned that Coco made the school jump rope team. We are beyond excited (and I'm relieved!). To be prepared to audition, she had to learn 2 routines, 10 new tricks, and test above a certain level in speed rope and power. Then of course, she had to do the dreaded double unders. At the beginning of August she could only do 1, and she had to jump 1-2 hours almost every day to make that goal. Half way through the month we found out that we misread the guidelines: she found out that she had to do 30 DUs in a row instead of the 3rd grade 20. That was discouraging, but we're so proud she didn't give up.

Though she already made it on the Tri-Force performance team, "Skip-Its" spots are really coveted at her school and that was the team she really wanted to make. We can't wait to watch her in the parades and other performances. Felix can try out next year (you have to be in 3rd grade) and can't wait to jump with her.

Grandpa and I are so excited for and proud of Chloe Jane. She worked really hard.

Another Artist in the Making : Evie Wood

Evie was chosen as "Artist of the Week" at school for the bear she created.

Coco is holding her certificate. And one of her other latest pieces.

My handsome Clayton Tyler Romans!

I love this picture of Clayton, although he is not smiling . He usually is and looks happier than this. I think this was taken when he was hungary and waiting to be fed. Or maybe just pensive and pondering.

Nevertheless, I love his blue eyes. I can see in him ( this picture)
a picture I have of him when he was 3 in my bedroon. Although he was smiling and looking a little mischievious in it.

Dana's Painting

Dana painted and donated this painting for a elementary school that Target is redoing in Raleigh NC... where he and Chelsea and family live. It is huge, and really impressive in person.

He is so talented and has such a gift. I continue to be amazed at all the things he can paint and the versatility he has. What an awesome artist. I hope in his next life, he can just paint all day. Dana, you rock! I have so much respect for your work.

Septemeber Back to School Table

My Trip to Utah

I had a great time on my trip to Utah despite my bad knee. I had a girls tirp with my dear friends Angie and Marilyn who I have been traveling with for 25 years. I got to se my good friend Debbe King. And meet and stay with the Lee's, a missionary coupe from Alabama. I was really worried about traveling but I did ok. We had a wheelchair part if the time. The first chair was Angie's neighbors..her kids play in it.It was made for a midget or a small child and there were no feet pedals. So I had to squish my tiny little derrier:) in to the seat and hold my feet out straight in the air. It was great for my abds but just a hard to do as my cane. We had a good laugh over it. Some other places we were able to borrow one on the premisies. It was a jammed pack trip. I had a reunion wth some of the girls in my Laurel class and another guy and his wife from my ward for dinner. My plane was delayed 2 hours but I made it in time to see them all. A few of them I hadn't seen for 40 years. I got to see my good freinds the Dillenbecks. I got to see my cousins and some of Greg's sisters. I had a reunion with the Virginia girls that have moved back to Utah. I got to see my old stake president from Illinois that I love like a father. i ran int some dear friends t the airport too. But the highlight was getting to see my kids and grandkids in Herriman. They are moving to Arizona soon so it will be the lat time I come to their lovely home in Utah. I even got a crown fixed in my moth by my dear and skilled brother-in law. It was a 2 part thing. Only I would get acrown on my vacation.

I had a wonderul time and it was great to renew ties with old friends. I came hoe fighting a sore throat fro all the body abuse I did while I was gone. Amazingly enough, I didn't gain any weight.
I don't think that has even happened before in my life while on vavcation.
