Republican State Convention May 29-30

This year I served as a delegate for Henrico county to the State Republican convention. We got to vote and nominate the candidates who will represent the Republican party in the fall. It was held in the Richmond Colosseum. the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center for 2 days, Friday and Saturday. It was mostly in the colosseum but the Gala with Mitt Romney was at the Marriot last night and the hospitality suites were in the convention center. The Mitt event sold out at 1300 seats. It was fun to hear him speak Today the big name speaker was Sean Hannity. George Allen spoke along with all the candidates and a host of leaders. There were many great speeches and it was good to hear the enthusiasm coming back to our party. There were some 11,000 people there today......the most in 15 years. It was a long 2 days but I am glad I got to be a part of it...become informed and exercise my right to vote. We have to keep the faith and do our part. We are waging a war against evil in many places. It was encouraging to see and hear many young people speak and
participate. I was really impressed with Bob McDonnel's credentials and his speech. He will hopefully be our next governor. Virginia , as well as New Jersey, is a race that will be watched all over the country. I know I will be busy this fall volunteering in whatever I can do help elect some good guys. God Bless Virginia and God Bless America!
